about

Green Grass was one of the first songs ever to be written and recorded by Goldfynch, a nature-
inspired siren call to beckon a Spirit home from his wonderings and endless striving. The song cuts to
the heart of what is important, eschewing material wealth and linear concepts of time and space in
the process, to suggest we should accept a greater plan is at work. The song highlights Niyat’s
intimate and smoky vocals, Gavin’s masterful finger work on guitar, the velvety double bass of

Jonathan Zwartz, and voluptuous layered strings care of violinist Ben Adler and cellist Damian De
Boos-Smith.

lyrics

Green Grass

I’ll be waiting here watching the grass grow
I’ll be waiting here through the Spring
If Summer comes and goes, well Winter knows
I can brave the cold and still I’ll sing.

Till you will come home to me
Why baby can’t you see
Home’s where the heart is.
So, we don’t have that much
What do we need as such?
We’ve built our mansions inside of us.

Don’t lose your faith
I know you’re brave so come
Come home to me
What will be, will be.

Everybody knows Time’s an illusion
Whatever we think goes it’s in our minds, it’s all in our minds
We may travel cross the world in our confusion
Yeah but when the day is done, we know where to turn.

You don’t need to fight it
Just journey back on to me
Why baby can’t you see
Home’s where the heart is.
So we don’t have that much
What do we need as such?
We’ll build our castles inside of us.

Don’t lose your faith
I know you’re brave so please come
Come home to me
What will be, will be, will be.

So
Don’t lose your faith, no no no
I know your brave, so please come
Come home to me
What will be will be.
