Little Bird was the last song to be added to the album, and was commissioned by Gavin’s student

Johnny Austen as part of a Kickstarter pledge. The spiritual track, which was recorded in English and
French versions, describes the conversation between a human and a little bird. In-so-doing topics
such as connection with nature, climate change, human interference in the natural order, and the
notion of freedom are explored. Little Bird highlights the plurality of Goldfynch’s cultural and
linguistic backstory. It is the only track where Gavin plays bass and also features Niyati on
harmonium, adding a sound that references the French accordion but in fact hails from India.
