about

The relaxed and flirty Latin-inspired Nova Bossa has an island holiday feel and the freshness of a
fruit cocktail. The song explores the psychology of attraction, through the lens of a holiday romance.
Capturing the excitement of the unknown and the assumptions that fill the space of first romantic
encounters, the song begs for the effervescent champagne bubble of thosr first moments to be
stretched for as long as possible without popping. The song came to Niyati as a whole one day whilst
driving, complete with horn lines, which are masterfully supplied in the track by trumpeter Thomas
Avgenicos.

lyrics

Nova Bossa

It was a quarter past nine
Before the party turned fine
That’s when I walked from the bar
And heard you strum your guitar under the pine

The song of the waves
The whisper of sand
A smile in your eyes
You warmed my cold hands

A carpet of starlight
Woven with dreams
A summer of love
Tread carefully

We turn our face to the wind
And so the journey begins
Be sure each moment will last
Before the feeling has passed

Well I don’t know you
And you don’t know me
The space in between
Lies pure fantasy

We’ll dance till we’re breathless
And sing in the rain
If life is a bubble
Let’s make it champagne

Don’t speak of tomorrow
Let’s live for today
What come’s with tomorrow
Who’s really to say?

See honey bright moon
Drifting out of the sea
A farewell to sorrow
Oh why can’t this be for Eternity
